Sarah Lott

Prior to joining Powell Coleman & Arnold, LLP, Sarah Wilson Lott served as in-house counsel for two prominent DFW-based commercial real estate construction and development firms, and most recently as General Counsel for a Dallas-based real estate developer with a focus on single-use commercial sites for nationally recognized retail and restaurant clients across the United States.

Sarah’s practice focuses on a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, including representing real estate investors and developers throughout the nation in the acquisition, disposition, development, construction, leasing, management, and financing of complex commercial, industrial, special use, and multifamily real estate projects.

Aside from traditional real estate transactions, Sarah also has significant experience in joint venture formation, small business counseling, entity formation and structure, organizational management, franchising operations and agreements, negotiation and drafting of service contracts, and land use matters.

As a knowledgeable real estate deal-maker with executive level experience, Sarah has the unique perspective of understanding the immediate and long-term business objectives of her clients and how they intersect with the client’s legal needs. Sarah’s thoughtful, proactive, and collaborative approach to the development and acquisition process helps her clients minimize stress while getting deals closed and projects constructed efficiently.

Sarah received her B.A. in Communication from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and her J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. During law school, Sarah was the Editor-in-Chief of her law review (Law and Business Review of the Americas), and competed in multiple national moot court competitions.   Since graduating from law school, Sarah has volunteered at SMU as a negotiations and moot court coach for several off-campus competition teams, and has assisted SMU faculty in co-teaching international negotiations seminars.

Sarah lives in Dallas with her husband and young son. She is actively involved in several community service organizations and animal rescues, including The Prostate Cancer Foundation, Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas, and Oak Hill Animal Rescue. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, and spending time on the water with her family.
